Sew & Slay is a sewing workshop in the Metro Detroit area that offers a beginner sewing course along with monthly sewing workshops.

My Story
After working in garment production for nearly a decade in Detroit, I realized something was missing. Too often, young women in fashion (myself included) were overlooked, undervalued, or taken advantage of while trying to grow in this industry. Yet, I also knew how much talent Detroit has. Our city is full of creative, driven artists who deserve opportunities to shine and be supported.
That’s why I created KHC: Sew & Slay. My mission is to unite and uplift the growing fashion community in Metro Detroit by offering sewing classes and workshops that are accessible, fun, and empowering. Sew & Slay isn’t just about learning to sew—it’s about creating a safe space where people can come together, build skills, and connect through fashion.
I also envision this as a platform for local designers and craftsmen to share their expertise and earn through teaching. Detroit is craving more unique, creative experiences—something beyond going out to eat or grabbing a drink. Sew & Slay will be that place. A place to create. A place to learn. A place to slay!
